The name refers to the two senses of the word. On the one hand , the sense of urgency associated with the need for immediate actions to face setbacks in the field of cultural rights and human rights . On the other hand, the word emergency refers to the emergence of a new , cultural , political and economic context marked by new forms of coexistence generated by a real cultural revolution.
A variety of different topics such as the fight for gender equality, race , indigenous rights, drug policies, the migratory crisis, the new media and environmental issues were the main focus of Emergencias, taking place between the 7th and 13th of December 2015.
